Life before the SD1 took the form of the P6B. Staid, solid, gentleman's carriage, the sort your granny would have apporved of. Then along came Bill Shaw and Roy Pierpoint, add in the ingenuity of the BL comps Dept at Abingdon and a faraway US tuning company called Traco - and you ended up with two outrageous fire-breathing P6B works racers, c 1970 style.

One of these is now in the hands of a private collector in the UK, the other is very slowly being restored by a P6 enthusiast in Sydney, Australia.

But check this out - a replica historic works racer, this time fitted with a 5 litre 485 bhp engine and Quaiffe box.....What a beauty!

Just shows you how good a P6B can look.
