Although I dont own a SD1 anymore I have owned several in the past including 3 Vitesses 2 of which were T/P, a VDP and a 2000.
My First was an A reg Vitesse in around 1997 which cost me around £350 (it had a misfire which turned out to be a poor spark plug) and I ran it for 6 moths before being stopped in the street and being made a good offer for it. No photos exist unfortunately.
I then purchased C511 CNG a Silver Leaf Vitesse T/P in 2000
Videos for it on a rolling road.

I then sold it and was without a Rover until I 'found' a stolen VDP at the side of the road with side windows put in, no wheels or stereo. I recovered it, got it home and set about tracing the owner.
I found a receipt under the seats with an address phoned it and eventually met the guy.
He told me he was gonna scrap it but someone nicked off his drive.
I gave him £30 for the logbook and service history, repaired it, MOTed it and sold it for £800 at a classic car show. Again no photo exists.
I then bought D350 DVR off ebay in 2004.
Well modified and a shed load of receipts show £10k spent on this car. I spent a further £1500 on some engine work, MOT and servicing and drove it for a a year before buying a BMW M3 and selling it on.
I was given a 2000 in 2004 too and it was complete and running but alas it was stolen from its parking space before I had time to sort anything.
So there is my SD1 history and I am currently driving a BMW M5 which is one hell of a car - 400bhp 5 litre v8.
One day another SD1 will sit on the drive but until then I will keep looking.
Regards
Russ

Holy feck... seems SD1's get stolen a lot. Well I cant say its too difficult because I remember the SD1's we broke in past had so fucked up locks that you could start them by using icecream stick.
I really have to sort something out to prevent those toe-rags nicking my car when the time comes I get mine to run. _________________ Owner of 3 Rovers and 1 MG.

Yep, mine's been nicked at some point in the past. The boot lock is thoroughly mangled and won't accept a key (still works on central locking though), the steering lock is broken, and it can be started by turning the lock barrel... Not great... _________________ My SD1:

No worries - it was a great car to drive but at least we now know what happened to it.
