Hi all i have just bought a 1982 sd1 se 3500
it all runs well a little fumy out the beather but there is no vacumn at the rocker cover breather .
so first thing is to fix that
Second it suposedly has a 5 speed getrag box.
My speedo is not working since the swap
it had a gear box in the boot but i do not know what it is yet. not familiar with the rovers
thirdly what type of diff and ratio should it be running and is there a difference from manual to auto in the ratio's
and what lsd fit if any from other vehicles
thanks if any one can help
this is the first of many such questions

Rod - congrats on your aquisition.

Its not exactly the same and i'm assuming you car is Efi, but many of the Efi system principles are the same as mine.

Check out the SD1 Efi system essays on my website and if you navigate to the "Plenum" essay (yes they are different) but the answer to your lack of vacuum will be explained as a "probably" blocked plenum breather gallery.

Rod, you may get more mileage from the forum if you keep the diff, gearbox and induction threads separated as the replies will get very mixed up.
