Does anyone know if there are any door skin repair panels available for the SD1? Rimmers only sell whole door skins and they're a bit pricey. I only need something a few inches tall, certainly no higher than the black door trim.

Don't think so my friend, The best you are going to get is a whole door skin I'm afraid. Which bit of the door/doors do you need to repair? One of the doors I bought for my Vitesse was rotten in the bottom corner & I cut out the rot & welded a new piece that I made.

I also think your best bet is to use angle grinder to take out the rotten part, then make similar shaped part of sheetmetal and weld it on.

Yeah, it's the usual rotten bottom corner (I think they've gone from the inside). Plan B was to weld in a repair made of sheet steel, but we thought it would be easier using something that came ready folded to go around the edges of the door. My dad apparently remembers using a product like this for a granada...

Not to worry, just a bit more work I suppose Smile

Mine was easy enough to repair, but I had never done a door skin repair before. Having worked on Mini's for 8 years before I got my first SD1, it was easier(not to mention cheaper!) to buy a good second hand door, here is a pic of the repaired door, not a great picture, but you can see where I've replated the door skin.

Thanks for the picture chris.

All four doors need something doing about them so I think repair is probably the most economical solution.
