I believe my car is now ready to be photographed and a profile placed on this forum, I've been waiting for some Efi alloys to be refurbed, they are on the car c/w shiny new boots and she's really looking very splendid now.

Just waiting for a break in the weather to polish her up, find a nice location and take some pictures, and I will also write a little essay on her history (owned by an oil company when new, then a doctor, then a Rover enthusiast/engineer, this all sounds like sales pitch waffle but it's all true...)

Watch this space, gang

Jay x

Very, very nice...lowered springs would really finish it off superbly if you could put up with the hassle over speed bumps etc...well done mate...!!

Thank you for the positive comments Very Happy

Yes I agree about the ride height, I was considering the lowered springs to rid me of the Range Rover like riding position.

The previous owner had replaced all the shocks and springs, I was hoping they would settle as time progressed, but alas they haven't.

I had a car full of passengers and chrissie pressies yesterday, and the ride height looked a lot better Smile

also, if Rimmers have a new year sale, I'm treating her to a stainless steel exhaust too

Here's to 2008!!

Where did you get the wheels done? I was going to have a go at doing mine myself, but I would rather pay somebody if it's cheap enough!

They were hand done by the guy who did the bodywork for me, he toiled for weeks rubbing all those little diamonds shapes by hand....

"Never again by hand, I'll get the buggers sand blasted!" he said....can't say I blame him. But the man is such a perfectionist....admirable.

He also did more on my car's bodywork than I asked for, but he said as you take these cars apart you find more and more little bits which he felt obliged to do.

He did me a big favour though, as he tidies up our RRVs when their leases have expired....

It was a difficult decision to have the centres done in body colour, as I really do like the all-silver look on the Vitesse/VDPEfi, but I'm pleased at the results. I think it suits the Vanden Plas very well, considering Range Rover Vogues had plain silver alloys, but the SE had body coloured alloys

I'm sure most wheel refurbishers will be able to obtain similar results, but the Vitesse alloys I started with were a little shabby, original good condition Vitesse alloys should be left all silver I think....
