Ah, I think E502LHX is an ex Police car.... Probably originally a white
2600VDP. Why? Well, a whole block of cars are registered as such:

Registration: E490LHX
Make: ROVER
Model: 2600 VANDEN PLAS AUTO (5 DOOR HATCHBACK)
Colour: WHITE

Loads of cars in a block around E500LHX (dozens of them!) are like this,
must have been a block registered by the Metropolitan Police (HX = London).

what normally happens when people modify an sd1 in this way is it starts life as (probably) a 2600 vanden plas, then they probably put a 3.5 (or bigger!) efi lump in it, and stick an efi badge on the back, so to look at you think it is a 3.5 vdp efi where, in fact, all is not as it seems......
i've seen a few like that around.

That 5000SE bagde is going to be looking juicy. All I can say is you will be making all the rover grandpas spinning in their umm... 75's saying "what is that model? I didnt know they made 5000SE"
