Just to annoy everyone, I've got one too.....

Well, not quite got it, I'm finally picking it up next week.
Oh, and my other Volvo (RWD this time though):

Yep Smile

I've put up with plenty of snide comments from people for most of my car choices, but TBH I couldn't give a toss. I choose them because they appeal to me. In the case of the T5 it's 225bhp and 221lbft for £400. Don't care what anyone says, that alot of bang for your buck! In the case of the 360 its cheap and RWD with a transaxle so weight is well distributed and therefore handles far better than it should. And there's plenty of bolt in engine upgrades too (not that I got as far as that because I bought the Rover instead).

And is an MG ZR not just another Eurobox? Whether it's got a silly sticker down the side of it or not? Wink

Has anyone considered an 800 Vitesse Sport?

OK granted, not as well screwed together or as safe as a Volvo, but hey, keeping it in the family with a big Rover with big power, and potential for even more....

And again, lots of car for little wedge, although the insurance is a bit steep.

You can even choose between "fastback" or "saloon" or the very tasty looking "coupe"

I think one would look good on my driveway next to the '83 Vanden Plas

I'm not a big fan of the 800, but I'd like a 220 Turbo one day. Maybe next year when I feel like a change.

However a mate has just bought an 800 Vitesse Sport Lux and wanted to do an 'old and new' Rover photoshoot soon. So look out for some photos Smile

Hey I'll look forward to that, I have an old 1995 Performance Car Magazine where the editor John Barker tested the then new Vitesse 800 Sport against an SD1 Vitesse, both were bright red, and looked great in an "old and new" way

The results were interesting, naturally the 800 was faster, more economical, handled better etc etc, but he came away marginally prefering the SD1 for it's muscle car characteristics, the noise etc.

He described the SD1 Vitesse as a "TVR for the family man" I think a very apt description...

Hi, I am a big fan of the 360GLT, am doing one up at the moment for my son, but would love another. So if you want to sell the red one let me know. A very underated car! Steve

Strangely enough Steve I am selling my GLT. It's just been MoT'd and taxed. I've got a few niggly jobs to sort on it and also I need to get the DVLA to put a new plate on it (current one being transferred for sentimental reasons). Once that's all done it'll be ready to go!
