My headlining is just starting to go a bit saggy and the Rear Pillars are pretty ropey, so has anyone done anything like retrimming themselves or is just best to let the Pro's do it?

Does your Adobe Reader work ok on other pdf's, if not you could try updating it from the Adobe site.
Alternatively let me know which files you want, off forum, and I will email the source .DOC file to you to open in MS WORD.

I've re-covered all the trim peices that cover the pillars. Simple job, remove them, strip them, clean them, spray adhesive from B&Q (or similar) wait 5 minutes for it to dry and stick on new cloth. Then spray rear and fold the edges around.

Not done the Headlinning yet, but that's next on the ever growing list!

Good luck.

Rear pillars are easy to do, just remove the old strecth the new stuff round it and stick it in place. Took me half a hour and imuseless with cars.

Dont know if you can still get the mareial though as I did mine in 1998! when it was easily available.

I've got a pair of rear pillars and a roll of new material here waiting to be stuck on.

What's the right spray glue and where do I get it from?

Cheers,

I got some from Woolies, it's a high-temperature tolerant glue, so
won't go gooey in hot weather.

I think I've seen similar stuff in Halfords too.

Good job I clicked on the link. I was about to rush downtown to find the glue and trim in my local Woolies Embarassed

I take it the standard headlining is brushed nylon, but I assume we can use any material we like for the headlining (as in the leather suggestion) ?

Sorry, I should have been clearer - it does cause confusion!

Yup, brushed nylon. Any other material would have to be very lightweight (as the headlining
board is fragile and won't be able to support much weight) and also thin enough to wrap
around the edges of the board and in particular the sunroof edge. If leather were used, it
would have to be *very* thin. The nylon is thin, very light and can be compressed.

Woolies (the link, not your local!) also stock the nylon headlining material in various colours.
Nearest is 'empire grey' or 'dove grey' - one is a little lighter, the other a little darker than
original, so sun-damaged/grubby grab handles and sunvisors don't quite match.
