I doubt its legal requirement here. I was thinking of using filler cap with a lock? _________________ Owner of 3 Rovers and 1 MG.

Fair enough, I was woundering if you were going to fit a 'remote release' like Mondeos have...could be an interesting idea really. _________________ Half Poly bushed 3.5 Twin plenum VITESSE(Waiting patiently for better weather)

When you M.O.T. a car it must be fitted with a locking cap(or flap).
T.B.H I was a little busy at the time I wrote that reply and wasn't thinking about fitting a locking cap under the flap.
Though interestingly enough I once had a Ford Granada with a locking flap AND a locking cap underneath and still found both borken with the petrol syphoned one morning...Oh well too late to moan now. _________________ Half Poly bushed 3.5 Twin plenum VITESSE(Waiting patiently for better weather)

Well,as with most of British automotive requirements
| Quote: | Failure if:
"Fuel tank cap does not fasten securely. |
Does leave a certain amount of interpretation,I've seen a vast difference(from past history in the automotive trade) between one M.O.T. station to another.
In other words some will fail for not locking others will give a warning notice...In practice though,It's only common sence to have a locking cap (or flap) in this day and age... _________________ Half Poly bushed 3.5 Twin plenum VITESSE(Waiting patiently for better weather)
