The inside of my car is turning into a swimming pool Shocked Both front footwells and one of the rear ones have become a bit damp!

Is there anywhere that SD1s tend to leak from? I think it might be coming through the windscreen as it looks as though the water is running down the front bulkhead into the footwell, but I can't really be sure.

I guess I'm gonna have to get some sealant and try and seal alll round the windscreen, but if anyone else has had similar problems and has any tips I would appreciate them!

Cheers

The SD1 leaks everywhere!!

Before you gunk up the screen, remove the 'A' post trim and check the
sunroof drain tubes are not damaged. The sunroof tray has four
drains, one in each corner - the drains connect through rubber tubes
in the 'A' post, then exit under the front wing. You should also crawl around
in each footwell and check the tube lower down.

Heh, should have guessed!

I had the drivers side pillar trim off just now but couldn't see any obvious signs of leakage. Hopefully the weekend will be dry and I can do some tests with a hosepipe!

Well it appears that the wet rear footwell was due to the n/s/r drain pipe coming off the sunroof, so that one is sorted.

Under the carpet in the drivers footwell I found a newspaper dated 1990 so I'm guessing the leak may have been a recurring problem Smile Also discovered the drivers glovebox was full of water (luckily I had nothing in there). Looks like is is coming through the bottom of the windscreen, so will have to get some sealant at the weekend.

The joys of SD1 ownership, eh? Wink

Shocked This calls for silicone hoses and hose clamps...

It seems I'm quite fortunate, I have a little dribble into the boot, and that's all ~touch wood so far~

When I stripped my shell I waxoyled the floorpan inside the car just in case a leak developed - BL should have fitted drain plugs in the floor.
