I know it was the postponed National show, but as it was also supposed to be the 'Spares Day', is it me or were there hardly any stands there this year? I had a fairly long shopping list of parts that I wanted to buy, & was very disappointed by the lack of people selling spares. Is nobody bothered about selling spares anymore? I don't have a huge bottomless pit of cash that I can spend at Rimmers & most of the parts I get for my car are secondhand.
Can we please have a bigger Spares event next year??

The problem is that with the supply of new spares being so cheap now from rimmers most peopel buy new, which renders the used parts worthless, I gave away 3 rear lamps, a new drivers seat cover and a S2 headlamp.

I'm sorry Tim, I thought for a minute that you said Rimmers were cheap?? There were lots of parts I wanted that are cheaper secondhand than from Rimmers

Rimmers are cheap in my opinion, some of the stuff they sell is cheaper than it was 20 years ago, how many 30 year old cars can you buy new oe parts for over the net and have them delivered within 48 hours!, Ive never had a problem with the quality except one rear lamp which was new but obvioulsy been sat for years and had discoloured.

Some second hand bits will be cheaper, and of course some parts are no longer available, I will alway sbuy new if possible and affordable, if the original ones lasted 28 years and 79000 miles, they should do the same again! Very Happy
