Can anyone tell me a bit more about this show? I have just today bought a 2600 auto vdp and wouldn't mind going along to get someone to have a look at it. |

hello and welcome mate
classics on the common is put on by the yorkshire region p6 owners club with support from the p4 and p5 clubs. it is open to all classics, but is primarily a rover show.
it will be held on heath common, wakefield on sunday 19th august, ie this sunday. you are too late too register, but just turn up on the day, it'll be no problem.
head towards wakefield, then take the A638 towards doncaster. after 1.5 miles take the A655 towards normanton. after 50 yards follow the rally signs. i will be up there, as will some other sd1s i'm sure.
there will be plenty of people there to look at your car!
i presume you want an expert opinion on it?
i'm no expert but i've had four now, so i'll happily look at it. if you want to see what a rough one looks like, it's black, it's low, it's got twin headlights and a broken exhaust, and i'll be driving it!!
hope to see you there mate.

spotted you but sorry didn't get to chat. You had too many people admiring your engine!
Hope you had a good trip. Car looked good apart from the pasty wrappers on the seat... (is that really a worthy rover extra?)

third in class (out of four) on a really wet day (hiding the crap paint) at bressingham rover rally, or, car of the year 2007 on a huge austin rover website. i know which result is worth more.....!
sorry j i didn't see you around either. did have a good look at your wheels though - nice car! how often do you get people admiring your "vitesse"!
and what lives up that exhaust? a horse? jesus!
as for the pasty wrappers, i haven't been down to cornwall since march and i get withdrawal symptoms
those people who were looking at my engine wanted to buy the car. told them to go to specsavers....... sorry, i mean keep an eye on ebay next month when she goes up for sale.
anyway, hope you enjoyed the show, despite that weather. i had a 3 hour drive home with about 20 feet visbility. great fun.
when i get my photos back i'll put some on here. have some for the other shows i put on here, just haven't got time to download them.
computer......... is........... very........... slow..........!
anyway, hope to see you all at gaydon _________________ rover sd1 club member 4311

the chunnel exhaust is coming off next week. not my doing - previous owner. it is only a 2600 in any case - and un-modified so it is a bit of a useless spare part anyway!
