Just read that the gear knob from James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 as used in Goldfinger has just been sold at auction.

You may remember it's the one that flips up to reveal the buton which operates the ejector seat,

I quote lines from the film, like some spotter who needs a life.....

Q: "You see the gearlever here? Now if you take the top off, you'll find a little red button. Whatever you do, don't touch it...!"

Bond: "And why not?"

Q: "...because you'll release this section of the roof, and engage and then fire the passenger ejector seat......Whsssssht!!!"

Bond: "Ejector seat? You're joking!?!"

Q (sternly): "I NEVER joke about my work, 007!!"

Well, that very gear-knob (without the keystick and/or DB5 attached) just sold at Bonham's....

£40,000!!!!

FOOK!! 40 000£... Now if i had such money to waste I would just make some crazy carbonfiber fabricator build me a lot of CF SD1 parts
