does anyone know who sells/makes the rear axle cups that the trailing links fit into.

I've emailed Rimmer bros and they are going to look into obtaining supplies.
I've emailed Doug from another SD1 link but he needs another 10 people to order and then it will be April 07 before he can get some machined.

I think Doug would be the only source.... Else why make them??

Out of interest, did your axle have the axle cups and are replacing them, or was it minus the
cups??

I've just updated all the suspension bushes on my late Vitesse. The axle DID NOT have
any axle cups! I believe the axle (and indeed most parts) were as the car left the factory
in March 1986. The axle hanger holes were not elongated, which is what I believe the
axle cups are there to help prevent by locating the bushes.

yes the axle had them fitted, so I thought I would renew them as I've renewed everything else, courtesy of Rimmer bros. The holes are not elongated either. But obviously I have come up against the non availability of the axle cups.

Its just I'm in for a penny in for a pound, having dropped the rear suspension, axle, exhaust and petrol tank to renew the underseal, I may as well renew all the bolts and bushes while I'm there. Even the metal bungs!!! ha ha

ps

it's a 1987 E reg 2.6 VDP.

Hmm, I'm worried now. No sign of the back axle of my car ever having
axle cups. Yet I've been told they all had axle cups!

I better get on Doug's waiting list for new cups....

Great! Nice to hear of non-Vitesses getting saved and restored.

There was a D reg 2600 VDP near my parents for many years, in
a very unusual colour of clove brown.
