Jeez, just up the road from me too - thought they were too posh in
Cirencester to even think of banger racing Laughing

There's also a P6 as 'spares/banger racer' - very late one on an 'R' plate.

We should be able to list cars like can be done with buildings.

Maybe an idea for a series with Griff Rhys-Jones - Restoration Rover?

It just got pulled from eBay - hopefully someone from the P5 fraternity
nabbed it.

The car looks like it's been dry stored - even the chrome looks nice.

According to the DVLA website, it's not been on the road since 1983!

At one time I had the SD1 a P6V8 and the P5 you see above, but it cost me so much I had to get rid.

Had an interesting conversation at a local car meet where the subject of banger racing came up , basically if you or I aren't prepared to buy the car (various reasons) then why can't the banger boys . I know its criminal for them to wreck good cars but if they are prepared to pay the money .
Just in case anyone gets the wrong impression I am not pro banger racing or agreeing with the banger boys doing this but when our world revolves around money (costs enough to keep the sd1's going) I know I can't buy up everything out there and I'm sure the rest of you are the same .

That looked one seriously nice P5 Tim Cool. Shame you had to sell her. What ended up costing you so much, body or mechs?

I've had four 3500S P6's myself, but no P5 yet. I'd love one one day though. Very Happy

Mechanics, it was overheating all the time and we couldnt find the source, had new rad, thermostat, pipes and new cam as that was worn aswell, turned to be a waterpump which looked new! I got it all ready fo rthe P5 national in 2004 and the alternator packed up a few days before seizing solid, I couldnt get one in time so used the SD1 (and had the P5 club turn there noses up at it).

And to be honest I found i was bit too young for it, I was agood 15 years younger than everyone else on the scene. I wasnt using it and had no place to store it so I sold it to a loving owner down south.

It had a massive history file and original bill of sale too!

Would like a another one day, but a coupe this time. Cool
