I'm thinking of selling my 1982 early series 2 3500 SE, I thought I'd put it here to see if any interest. car is in newport south wales.

Its a 3500SE manual in silverleaf, I think the MOT is till april but I'll have to check. The best thing about this car is that the bodywork is in superb condition, one of the straightest original cars I have seen. the only areas of rust I could find were a small patch on the bottom of one rear door and some bubbling inside the sunroof channel and on the sliding panel.
Its just had a complete new clutch fitted and a brand new slave cylinder.
I am the third registered owner, the first one owned it from new until about 3 years ago and kept it garaged the whole time. theres a load of documents for work carried out, plus the original bill of sale from Leyland in 1982, shows part ex'd series 1. there are a sheaf of old MOTs which back up the mileage to 63000 in 2005 when the odo stopped working. I'd estimate its done about 3000 miles since that time and I have changed the counter for one that works but is a lot higher mileage.
Its a first time starter every time, but idling speed isnt constant when warm so I have purchased a manual choke conversion for it which is supplied but not fitted. also the gearbox is a bit whiney. it doesnt jump out of gear or anything but something to be aware of. it will also want a transducer in the gearbox as the one in there gives an innacurate speed reading.
work needed includes; needs new front bumper. central locking not working. one rear window doesnt work. will want 2 tyres on the front.also there is a clonk from the front which I reckon is the strut top.
on the plus side, it has suspension lowered 30mm all round, adjustable GAZ shocks, poly bushes on the front end, from the downpipes back the exhaust is stainless with a big tailpipe to get the most of the V8 soundtrack. the guy who changed the clutch reckoned its had an LSD fitted but I would have to check this as I didnt do it.
so all in all its not perfect but the excellent condition of the bodywork would make it pretty easy to make a stunning car.if you had a donor vehicle you could sort this in a very short space of time. if it doesnt sell this is what I'm planning to do.
In view of the good bodywork and the fact that the car owes me a lot, I'm looking for £650. if You are seriously interested I can email some pics.
