You asked for it, you get it.

Below is the documentation I have sent to the insurance companies as the list of modifications to the car. Even with this lot they still insure it at a reasonable value. The hard bit is putting a value to it. Any guesses as to it's resale value and rebuild value.

Make: Rover
Model: SD1 Series 1
Engine: 2300
Year: 1979

Modifications:

Engine.
Rover SD1 V8 3528cc engine fitted
Stage 2 ported and polished heads
Edelbrock performer intake manifold fitted
Edelbrock 500cfm 1404 manual choke carburettor fitted
Edelbrock 3” pancake air filter
Fast road cam
One off custom made straight through (no silencers) Stainless Steel exhaust.
Stainless steel braided fuel lines, air lines and small bore water hoses.

Transmission.
Rover SD1 V8 3500 standard gearbox and rear axle fitted.
Lightened and balanced Flywheel.
Performance 16” x 7” alloy 5 spoke wheels
TOYO 16” tyres

Suspension.
30mm lower than Rover SD1 Vitesse spec springs fitted.
Spax adjustable dampers fitted

Brakes.
Jaguar XJS EPC groove and dotted discs and 4 pot calliper brakes fitted up front
Standard brakes fitted at rear
Goodridge stainless steel hoses fitted all round

Body.
Headlights replaced by Datsun Sunny headlights with integral indicators.
Front indicators removed and body filled and smoothed
Swageline around complete body filled and smoothed.
Door handles removed and smoothed.
Cooling vents cut into bonnet
Painted Ford Citrine yellow.

Interior.
Rover SD1 Vitesse spec seats, carpet and dash fitted.
Custom made Dashboard with white round dials.
Custom carpeted boot
Wooden dash inserts replaced by Stainless steel
Custom made smoothed door panels, carpet and vinyl covered.
Electric solenoids fitted to actuate door.
Sony CD head unit
Pioneer and Sony Amplifiers fitted in boot well.
JL Audio 12” subs fitted in custom boot install
Sony 6x9 speakers fitted in rear quarter panels
Kenwood component speakers fitted in front doors
Wiring enhanced to enhance standard, underrated switches with power relays.

The car has not been rolling road tested and so a performance figure for the engine cannot be stated, but is assumed to be about 200 BHP.

The body is given a clean and smoothed look with the swage line, door handles and trim removed. The car is entered via a remote control button (similar to a central locking alarm fob). The car is exited by push buttons on each door and duplicated on the driver’s door.

That just goes to show that the SD is still able to pull off a modded look!
Very nice!
I remember when it was all the rage to Mod SD1's, but now the emphasis is on standard, should it be? After all people still mod Golfs and Peugeots etc from the time.
Does anyone remember the Black Prism Motorsport Rover that was in Max Power probably over 10 Years ago? I have been trying to find anything on it but nothing as yet. I can't find Prism either. They used to mess around with SD1's a lot.

I remember it and loved it. The rear light mod I have planned for mine in the future. Very simple but effective. The car came up for sale on E-bay a coulpe of years back. As I remember it the exterior was very nice but the interior was very standard and tatty Sad .

Yes it was my car, there aren't 2 that colour, is there? That was a great day out, cost me £150 for a new tyre after pushing it around the corners so hard. The car has been sat in the garage since then in which time I have finished the interior, fitted an Edelbrock carb and painted the sides of the car. You will have to wait to the sapres day to see the sides of the car now!!

Some more photo's. It's still not complete and needs a damm good clean.

The Interior and dash. All the shiny metal is Stainless Steel Cool . Custom home made dash with dials shipped in from America. Elctric window switches and stereo control in the centre.

The Drivers door panel. Again home made, Stainless steel trim and door release buttons. No manual door handles here.

The boot. More damn carpet. 2 x 12" subs, 6 x9" speakers under the rear quarters and 2 big amps. Twisted Evil

The engine. Awaiting for a fuel banjo before I can fit the Filter. Laughing

The wiring controls. Here is the custom made wiring loom and 2 control units. 28 relays (3 not shown). Door release reciever. View up under the dash on the passenger side. Shocked

Blimey! well that certainly gets around the problem of being able to find certain original Dashboard switches.
Obviously loads of work gone into the car.

An early picture of the side of the car, I will try to get some better ones up when I take some more photos.

This side has now neen polished and the wing mirror finished. The other side is the same but requires polishing to finish. I get lots of comments now on what to do with the yellow. Range from leave it as it is, paint the front red, the back blue or all black. What are your views, what will go best with the Union Jack?

Yes that Citirine Yellow is a dated colour now. How about the same blue as the flag, kind of Austin Powersish? Failing that Black! Cool

Looks like you have put alot of work into that mate Wink Cool
I really like the interior mods you have carried out.
Your car is a very similar colour to my old wide arch one.

I remember seeing the wide arch Prism Motorsport SD1 in
Max Power,mine was almost identical.
(Same wheels etc).
My Mum rang Prism some years back to ask where they got there tyres
from and he informed us it had been wrapped round a lampost Shocked Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
