sorry screwed up again with the posting above....
Any chance of some photos of other members cars on this section as I have been through all the links and there seems very few pictures of your cars. Would especially like to see yours Chris P as the picture on your avatar is too small to see.... |

The light clusters made a big difference to the back end and were a wise investment. I have also just had the wood refurbished which made a big improvement to the interior. The headlining is the last piece of the jigsaw for this year and that is getting refitted next week all things going well. Another refurbishing top improvement are getting the wheels redone they make a hell of a difference. |
Did you use the chrome tape to refurb the side rubbing strips - one of
Ramon's how-to guides describes this method. I've got the tape to do
the job, but not had time to actually do the work.
I had the dash and door wood refurbished last year. An upholsterer
did an excellent job - it's worth doing this before the cracks get too
bad and damage the veneer.
I've got headlining to do next on my list. Where did you obtain new
material from. Woolies Trim have a couple of suitable - one is light
grey, the other slightly darker but of higher quality, the original
headlining is somewhere between the two. |

Really impressive pictures....Very good condition...a real credit to the marque....
IMO SD1`s suit red very well ...something to do with the Ferrari Daytona overtones in the design....which is rare as usually by now red fades in the sun which detracts from the appearance....Keep up the good work..
My secret plans to spray one of mine a nice deep candy red are getting more solid when I see A1 examples like yours.... |

Stephen, I've put a couple of pics on a new topic.
You can see how bad the side rubbing strips are on the passenger
side. I must get around to doing them... and the headlining.... |

Hello all, I've not long got back into a Vitesse after a long absence, and I must say that 'TMX' is the best looking one i've seen so far!!
May I ask where the tailpipe was sourced from?
It looks unbelievable!
Mine has an awful 'bucket' up the middle, and the fumes in the car make my eyes water. It also looks poor!
Any pointers would be much apprecitated!
All the best,
Tommo. _________________ I wish I could make my own petrol. |

Thanks for the comments on the car. It may look near perfect in the pictures but we all know how photos can hide all the problems of real life. I bought the full stainless steel system on mine from ebay at a major discounted price and it ws brand new and still in the original wrapping. The seller had bought it to put it on a project car but then bought another car to replace the project that already had a full system on it - hence the sale to me. I think all in sent to the door it was less than £300 and it has the stainless steel manifolds on it too so it sounds awesome.
I believe however that Rimmer Bros. now supply the tailpipe with their system in this shape and size instead of the DTM upward style.
That style as you mention will cause serious intoxicating fumes to enter the car as I had the same problem with my old TP so best to get one of the curved shaped ones to save you from those nightmare headaches your probably getting as I know I did. |

Brilliant!
I'll have a look at Rimmers web site to see if they list justthe back box.
Mines got Rimmer manifolds, but a home made system. It too sounds amazing, but the fumes are awful. It looks homemade as well!
All the best,

Sweet Baby Jesus and the Orphans!
If mine looked a quarter of yours my Missus might just see what I was on about!
That car is a credit to the movement, and an inspiration to us all.
There can be no better endorsement of what we are about than that car. What a missed opportunity, looking back. We had it all, looks, performance, handling, sound, practicality, service back-up, and we let it go. It is now up to us few to show the public at large that British was sometimes best, and that Austin Rover was not a motoring footnote, but maker of some of the most exciting cars the public has ever had the opportunity to buy.
Lets hope that we lose no more cars to the scrap-man, and that we can act as trustees to the memory of an oft criticised and abused marque.
Thanks for sharing an amazing car!
