My mate had a black V8-S like you described, he entrusted it to a restorer in freckleton (who he thought was a decent bloke) who kept the car, refuses to talk to the owner and hes never seen it since and theres nothing he can do about it!

Therese no proof he has the car so he cant do athing about it, as its want insured (silly I Know) when it was being stripped for restoration he cant do a thing about. We think he broke it up for parts.

So whetever you do keep away from freckleton rover centre! The guys a crook!

Be careful what you say on here! He could get wind of this topic and get rather funny Wink . I had a bad experience with a Vauxhall Tuner once from Southampton, you may know them, LAGER spelt backwards, anyway he got wind of it and lets just say he was not very happy. Ever since then i have been very careful what i say on forums about places.

Good advice I guess, I can't comment as I have never delt with him, I did like the project S1 he did, anyone got any pic's of it finished?
Oh has anyone got the pic's of a reader restoration of a S1 that was in Pratical classics once?
It was a yellow low miles one that had been returned to the dealer because of rust and stayed there for years, it was restored and was a mint gold example Very Happy

Not the first time I've heard these stories. They pissed me about once when I ordered some new front springs. After a week for same day delivery they were for a Rover 200. Another 2 weeks, lots of phone calls before I got the right ones.
