yeah here i am now...at first a few words about myself...i am a 25 year old mechanican from munich/bavaria/germany..i did my apprenticeship in an establishment for english and all other oldtimers...my former boss owned this car a year ago and now i got it for 1500 € from the new boss...i am very lucky with this car..aside from i dont have my drivers licens at the moment (a long other story)...now some pictures
*smile* it only has 118.000 km driven
there is some rust on the passanger doors you do not see here
hmmm...v8!...mercedes never did a v8 with this storage option..so i ended with rover
the wood is chapped and there is no leather and its automatic..but i dont care (at first )
*nothing to say* you like it or not
so far with the pictures..there is no big work on the car at first..it runs and brakes..the sun roof engine is claddering and some rust is to remove...but its not just a car to have it..its a car to love it
so far from myself..i hope i can meet some people who are also english-youngtimer-crackbrained _________________ 1986 SD1 VANDEN PLAS EFI MOONRAKER |

Very nice Great original condition; nice to see a VDP EFi without the rear
tailgate spoiler.
You may already know, but Rimmer Brothers in the UK have a significant
supply of new-old-stock parts. These have been returned to the UK after
about 20 years in India! Only registered users can see links on this forum! Register or Login on forum! |
The wood can be refurbished by a good upholsterer. I had this done a
couple of years ago. Many, many coats of varnish were used! Or you
could buy new items from Rimmers |

Nah.. I think most people told their ages because they wanna let people know we SD1 fellows arent just a bunch of old farts who like to drive their slow cars at minimum speeds slowing traffic down and complaining of the remaining engine noise with the stock exhaust with 15 different types of silencers and mufflers. _________________ Owner of 3 Rovers and 1 MG.

Nice to see a german license plate on an SD1. I've been living in Heidelberg for 7 years now (does "Langzeitstudent" ring a bell? ), but I haven't seen a single SD1 around. Apparently there's only about 35 or so on the road in Germany, though I'm not sure whether that figure applies to SD1s in general or specifically to Vitesse models.
BTW: I'm 27 _________________

Steady on Lehto! Take care how you deal with these ageing folks.
I'm 69 going on 70, and I really object to your terminology.
I'm definitely an Old Fart and proud of it, but no way am I thinking of changing mufflers.
Noise is good! Thats why I'm running a 100watt sound system in my SD1 with extra speakers built into the rear parcel shelf.
Mufflers Indeed!
