what fuel do you use

You can use unleaded fuel in every V8 powered SD1.

Still use leaded in mine, with average octane rating of 99.7 RON the VDP Efi loves the stuff.

Only if the wife's not looking over my shoulder, but it's just under £1.60 a litre!!!!

That's 5* leaded? Wasn't that phased out in the 1970s? I remember my
dad having to mess with his P6 3500S to run on 4*. That must have been
prior to November 1977 when he replaced the 3500S with a 2600.

I know you can still find leaded in some places, but 5* leaded? Where does
that come from? Do you work in an oil refinery, perchance?

It's produced by Bayford, they supply a small number a mainly independant garages. I'm lucky enough to have a couple within 5 min drive. Octane rating has actually gone down, when they first started selling it, it was over 100 RON.

There's a couple of places that do 4 star in the Derby area, but I wouldn't go to them as it's stupidly expensive, £1.50+ a litre last time I checked, not worth the drive to the petrol station!!
I've used Castrol Valvemaster in all of my cars, puts the octane rating up a little bit to boost performance....
