Yet another problem on the Vitesse!
The heater blower motor doesn't seem to be working. I bought a new relay from the Spares Day, but this did nothing at all. I do recall that there is a resistor or soemthing on the top of the heater unit, some spring that the voltage goesthrough, & I've heard that this often gets corroded & fails. Is there any way to fix the heater??

I think the resistor only comes into play on the reduced fan speeds. Full speed should be 12v straight from the battery and not involve any resistors.

Chris, I think you may have to try and trace the power that's supposed to be going to the blower using a multimeter.

I dislike faulty heaters - they're too complicated and take far too much effort to physically get at. The control flaps on mine are fouled out and the fresh air flap automatically opens at around 40mph...

I had an electrical problem with LPG system on my '85 VDP recently and since getting it fixed, have noticed that my heater blower motor no longer operates on any speed. I'm unsure as to whether the LPG fix had anything to do with it, but the mechanic did have to hunt around under the dash and am thinking that he may have inadvertently disconnected a wire somewhere.
Have checked the fuses and they are OK - so will keep a watch on this thread in the hope that some tips come along. Will also spend some more time under the dash - but it is the blind leading the blind under there!
Paul.
