What is the best way to remove the front wing? (without destroying it)

The reason I ask is I have rust in the usual area behind the front strut turret, and the only way I can see to fix this propperly is to take the wing off and I would rather not bodge it welding a bit in on the inside. I understand it is spot welded on, how many welds and how hard are they to drill out? the Wing itself is very sound so seems a shame to waste it, even though it seems new OEM from rimmers are not expensive I would like to keep the original if I can

You dont have to remove the wing to get at the strut turret, and it wouldn't help anyway, as there is also an inner wing, so you wouldn't really gain anything from it....

Not sure you understand the section I am talking about. Its the vertical panel which has a hole in it which the wireing comes though on the drivers side, and has as part of it the flang the top of the wing is welded to. It runs between the inner arch/turret and the wing, all the way along form the scuttle to the front of the car. Mine has rotted in the section from the scuttle to the turretl (just forward of the hole for the wiring, next to the inner arch flange) I am NOT interested in plating over this.

I wouldn't even dare suggest that you do 'plate over' it, that is the height of bodging!!
