The car or the haircut Laughing

The car-
Well i got it when i was 14ish (1998) Confused
It had just been built and was mint

Kept it till 2001 or 2002(cant quite remember). Confused
Could'nt afford to replace the tyres or run it really so i
offered it my then boss, Chris at RPI.

Sold it him for peanuts on the promise he would turn it into a demo car with a 5.2.
So when i got it to Norwich from Nottingham for him i dropped the motor and box out.
He sold the motor and made more than his money back.
I was only working there for the summer as i did every year.
Returned in 2003 for the summer and was horrified to see he had just left it to rot
Then when i worked there properly/full time in 2004 i used a few of the parts off it for the Top Gear SD1 and took the wheels and kit back for myself.
Think the actual shell got scrapped Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

And the haircut-
I grew up Laughing Laughing Wink

But now i have another one so not all is bad Cool

Hang on if your 14 what were u doing driving it you bad man!

I shant comment on RPI as you know my feelings but thats 2 perfectly good cars (yours and top gears) they pulled the engines out of and left the rest to rot! and you still work for them! Shocked

Top gears car dint have the engine taken out of it Confused
That got sold on to an enthusiast Wink

They took the motor out of the Clarkson car but it was'nt there engine as such,it was a customers engine they had just built and the customer allowed them to use it Wink
And it was a scrap car of there's in the first place Wink

But fair enough,it does piss me off that they let it rot(mine and Clarksons).

But i wunt have the Clarkson car now if i dint work there Laughing

And i bet he has helped keep thousands of SD1s on the road over the years, and raise the profile of them with the top gear and Clarkson cars Wink
