For more than 10 years, the bonnet gas struts have been available in the cottage industry aftermarket- first thro "Apollo Services" run by ex member Keith Hooson, then the Club Shop, both at pretty reasonable prices, due to bulk purchases from the Bedford manufacturer. Probably in their hundreds.
Now Rimmers have them available - but not so cheap.
So, is it likely that today, all cars that are not supposed to have them have simply been retro-fitted, brackets 'n' all, by envious owners looking for a bit of class?
I spy that Rimmers are selling the bonnet stay brackets for a fiver including vat. Can anyone tell me if this bracket simply bolts into place? I don't want to weld/drill the car to fit it as it'd only be temporary. Thanks.
