I feel I must recommend these guys as without their parts, I couldn't have rebuilt my SD1.

The parts guys know their stuff and have a crack on with me on how the project was coming along. Also, they would always do a deal, mind, any discount given was immediatley spend on more parts ie the 1's I fancied but were not essential !!

Delivery is quick and well packaged.

And, since Rimmer Bros announced their huge parts catalogue, have you noticed how many SD1's are coming out of storage and how the prices for the cars has gone up. Hell, even Practical Classics are featuring 1 as a mag article, currently in Poland being restored in partnership with Rimmer Bros.

I've used Rimmer's since for previous SD1s, a Rover V8 powered Triumph Stag, Range Rover V8i Classics and Land Rover Discovery V8i (notice a pattern here....) and all I've ever got is excellent advice, prompt order handling and delivery, quality goods at a reasonable price....

The only thing I do remember finding them dear for was a new airflow meter for my Vitesse I owned a few years ago, ended up getting one from another Land Rover specialist.....

Yea. I only wonder do they really have everything they list on their websites? For example the series 1 indicator assemblies. Other than that... its super that they exist because Im getting a lot of nice parts from there this weekend SmileSmileSmileSmile

It's strange why Rimmers have chosen to remanufacture series 2
bumpers. It's not difficult to get a decent used one, and doesn't take
too much effort to patch and respray and end up with one as good as
new.

The Rimmers bumpers are quite expensive, and from what I've heard
not brilliant (they are made of fibreglass rather than polyurathane).

There was some mention of new door cards being made a few years
ago, again in fibreglass, not sure it ever came to anything. Quite
difficult to get right so it looks right on the door. Then there is the
covering....

Hope we can get something done about the door cards, the rear ones arent that much of a problem, but the front ones, especially the driver's door card.....

A couple of little problems I did have with Rimmers - When I had my 2600 I had to replace that litte right angled hose that goes from underneath the thermostat to the pipe for the heater, they sent me one but it was just a tiny bit too small, had to use the car so I made it fit, but it failed again after only a year on the car, so ordered another which was far too small, & Rimmers had to send me another out that they had cut bigger.
The other thing is with brake pipes, need both rigid pipes for the rear for my Vitesse, ordered them both, but only one came, rang them & they said that one of them was out of stock, but, they had labelled the parts up wrong,so that CRC3088 which came, was actually labelled up as CRC3089. Ended up re using an old pipe from my old 2600 though, so it's all good....

Very Happy I've just had a very similar problem, I ordered the engine breather hose kit for the stromberg carbs, he kit they sent was a mix and match of various bore pipes, only one part was correct, now resolved though

I've just remembered a problem I also had regarding breather hoses, ordered a replacement for one of the breather hoses for the 2600 twin HIF SU's & got sent a hose that was no use for man nor beats, had to pinch one off a scrap 2600 instead

One of the problems with Rimmers stuff is they work from the parts
manuals - and there is lack of clarity and mistakes in those.

It can be frustrating - I've had about half a dozen passenger front
door seals from them now, yet to get a drivers side one!
