I've a rolling programme of tidying the underside of my Vitesse so I can
eat my proverbial dinner off it. One thing that looks awful at present is
the state of suspension components - particularly the track-control
and steering arms.

Does anyone think it unwise to get components shot-blasted and
powder-coated?

If you're doing your car up then why not you get the top all nice . My project rover came with a blasted and painted rear axle (druns also same ) . Looks good .

It's a question of where do you get zinc plating done? I found a
friendly powder coater near where I live, so it was easy to get
stuff done there.

Plating sounds better - and one or two bits are plated from new
so would be more 'original' looking. Particuarly things in the
engine bay.

Either way, the bits going back on the car look far better than
the ones coming off Laughing
