I decided that it would be good to start a new topic about these. Anybody have experience with them in SD1 cars?

There was the complete half leather backseat at the warehouse but the front seats were sold for some rediculously small ammount of cash to an old employee for his corvette project my dad says.
About fitment I found that the side bolsters(?) werent even a close fit and it would be far easier to just cover the old ones with same type of leather.

The lower part of the seat is about the same size and shape as the SD1 part but there is the shaft tunnel part missing from the 800 one and the "hooks" are in wrong places so easier choise would be to try fit the seats trim or cover or what its called in the place of the old one in the SD1 "frame".

The upper part of the seat is 2 piece which doesnt cause any trouble because their linked with a "tube" together... however the attachment piece is very different from the SD1 one and needs to be modified. Anybody with a mig welder (and below average welding skills), angle grinder and a drill with metal bits could do it. I tried to measure the part size by putting it over the original SD1 part and its pretty much 1:1 same size and shouldnt be any trouble. No idea how the seat "lock" would work... have to figure something out.

The seat belts would need to be changed to 800 counter parts so it wouldnt look out of place.

After all this trouble why would anybody want to do it? Just for the looks I think I would do it.

IF anybody knows of good 800 half leather recaros for sale in ENGLAND area please tell.

Hi mate, my old Wide Arch had full leather Rover 800 seats, i was told it use to be common practice to put them in SD1's?

Mine fitted ok, but were in the car when i bought it.

Look so much better than the SD1 seats though in my opinion Cool

Which model 800's were compatible, and would this extend to the Honda Legend versions?

Rover 800 seats are definately NOT compatible. The seat rails are 410mm apart in SD1 and their 440mm apart in 800 series. Anyways here are pics...

Their not cleaned up yet. I just put some leather feed to them so the leather parts will soften good before I do anything with them.

There different to the ones i had in mine, mine were full leather and a slightly different design. Think mine had one off rails made up.

And the rears fitted perfect, but unfortunately i have no idea what was involved in fitting them. I did remove the lowers and re-fit them at one point and it all looked straight forward?

Maybe from a different model or something.

They are going to look great in your SD1 mate Cool
