Just checked my route planner, only 99 miles from my address.
May just try and make that one (Rover permitting)

i'll see you there. i called in at this event last year on my way back from cornwall in the 820. there is not much room and the cars are fairly tight together. i wouldn't expect they will be able to put us all together even if they wanted to. you know what some of these rally organisers are like, miniature hitlers. there were about 25 cars there last year i think including i think three sd1s, and it was full. i'd be inclined to be there at a reasonable time if you can. hope to see you there. hope also i've got my front spoiler back on by then. could be tricky as most of the fixing holes are broken!!! _________________ rover sd1 club member 4311

bugger. mind you, there is just a miniscule chance the weather forecasters might have got it wrong. it has happened before - the michael fish "no mrs smith there isn't going to be a hurricane ha ha ha" from 1987 springs to mind. oh well, take the rough with the smooth i suppose. just keep fingers crossed. _________________ rover sd1 club member 4311

The SD1s nearly full of super unleaded and has been poished buffed and hoovered just incase! Will be taking jacket, brolly and a couple of leathers incase I need to wipe her down! _________________ 1979 Rover SD1 V8-S

Can't make it now. Replacing the steering rack hasn't worked out.
The replacement rack obtained from a local motor factors is missing
one mounting bracket, the one from the car has the bracket spot
welded to the rack body. I remember now some racks had one
removable bracket, some had both fixed.
Car will have to sit outside now until I get the right rack |

Well considering the weather the turnout was fair?, 200 miles round trip on half a tank fo fuel made me happy, loosing a exhaust rubber and a wiper blade didnt though! otherwsie my trusty stead performed faultlessly.
Does anyone know where I can get one of the metal pins that holds the wiperblade to0the wiper arm as one of mine snapped on the way home (in protest to being driven in the rain no doubt!)
Nice to see everyone, Kev I trust you didnt injur yourself changing gear on the way home! _________________ 1979 Rover SD1 V8-S
