just to let everyone know, the guy i bought my series one v8 from yesterday also has two vitesses for sale. they have sat on his drive for 18 months and not run, so will both need work but are not total basket cases. his missus has run off and taken all his documents and keys for them, but he told me he wanted £550 each for them. mind you he told me he wanted £1950 for mine and i gave him £1100 so haggle away he wants to get rid of them......
i've got his number somewhere or they're advertised in the classic car weekly paper. located in southwick, near brighton.

Good info - hopefully someone will save these two Vitesses.

There seem to be a lot of complete but restoration-required Vitesses around at the moment.
One on eBay now, another a few weeks ago, these two and two others mentioned
elsewhere on this forum. This should be good news considering the availability of bodyparts
from Rimmers.

Problem is, if the seller only wants £550 for each of these two, that's well within what the
scrappers will pay for the engine and EFi alone - particularly the twin-throttle. Especially
with missing documents!

IT'S A PITY I KNOW BUT SOMEONE'S GOT TO TAKE THE WHOLE CAR TO STOP IT HAPPENING. I'VE NEVER HAD THE SORT OF MONEY TO BE ABLE TO BUY ONE AND DO IT UP, I NEED ONE WITH TAX AND TEST!!
HE TOLD ME RIMMERS WANTED TO BUY A LOAD OF PARTS FROM THE TWIN PLENUM, AND ALSO IN THE DASH (?) BUT HE WOULDN'T BREAK IT UP. HE DID DISCUSS THE OPTION OF 'CREATING' A CAR WITH IT HAVING NO DOCUMENTS BUT IT'S NOT MY KIND OF THING!!
WE NEED SOMEONE WITH LOADS OF WEDGE TO BUY THESE TWO AND GET THEM BACK ON THE ROAD!! BE A SHAME TO SEE THEM ROT AWAY - HE'S GOT TWO SPARE V8 ENGINES IN THE BACK OF HIS RANGE ROVER AS WELL!!
I THINK IT'S A SHAME THESE 'DO - ABLE' PROJECT CARS DON'T FIND HOMES BECAUSE THERE'S SO MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO HAVE THE SKILLS DO BE ABLE TO DO IT, BUT PEOPLE JUST DON'T HAVE THAT SORT OF TIME. THERE WILL COME A TIME WHEN SOMEBODY WILL WANT A VITESSE TO RESTORE AND THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND ONE! OR THEY'LL BE GOING FOR RIDICULOUS MONEY (MUCH AS THE TAXED AND TESTED ONES ARE AT THE MOMENT.......)
PS ANY NEWS ON THAT FOOL WHO WANTED TEN GRAND FOR ONE?
