Kerosene's car looks the same colour as mine which is Oporto Red(Is that right Kerosene?)

That's Right, except the previous owner changed the paint mixture/colour slightly.

For a vandenplas shouldn't it have wood on the dash as well(the dash looks original)but also the plinth on the back shouldn't it be black on a B reg.

Maybe but i wouldn't know.

Dont mean to nik pick if it was sold to you as a vdp then it does not look like one.

I know, it has vitesse extras which I like.(The wheels and spoliers) It should look more like Silverleaf's

Does it say vandenplas on the logbook?

Yes it does.

I have more appealing pictures taking after a wash and a good polish.
I'll upload them soon.

Looks in very nice condition and looks like a very meaty exhaust and
from the engine-bay pic, stainless headers, so must sound awesome!

Does it stay on UK plates or will you have to re-register it in Ireland?

I had 1984 2600SE that colour back in the early 90's,it didn't stay a 2600 for long, blew the oil pump and total destroyed the engine, bought a scrapped out w reg v8 and trans-planted engine, gearbox and exhaust into the 2600.I think the SD1 looks great in that colour, when they are washed polished they look absolutly fab, yours looks the business, hope she puts a smile on your face every time you take her out like my does

Just an Update on the car.

I've fitted twin K+N Filters, serviced the car, Fixed the fuel sender and tank pump, and the stalk(Headlight switch was worn,on the way back to ireland, when you indicated it flashed the headlights! Laughing Some drivers were confused)

I'll post some pics/video on youtube, of the engine since i fitted the K+N's.There is a noticable sucking of air when i rev it Very Happy .

Now i have another list of stuff to fix! Rolling Eyes It's my hobby! Very Happy

my oporto red VDP is also a B reg and has wooden dash and a chocolate brown inside. Ugh.

I have a spoiler on the back in black but that was added later

I actually prefer the darker interiors to my "tan and beige" interior, although I think my favourite is the grey Vanden Plas leather, followed by the grey Vitesse velour, I also like the dark red (wine?) VDP interior.

I actually found the soft Vitesse (sports?) seats of my old TP marginally more comfortable than my current Vanden Plas leather (the leather is quite firm, not soft like a Jag's)

Another Update since i last spoke about the car.New servo, master cylinder,PDWA valve, rear brakes rebuilded.(back plates, shoes, springs, wheel cylinders)and a new rear wheel to wheel brake line.Which didn't go well.I ordered it off rimmers and i think its wrong,so i just bought the old one to the local motor factors and they made one up in five minuties!.Anyway hopefully get to insure it at christmas and go cruising,p*ss off the locals and make the boy racers engines sound patheic Laughing
