Hello,
Just registered with the site - I did'nt realise there was one! I am currently on my 3rd SD1, which is undergoing the slowest rebuild in history - it is a 2300 base on a B plate which has an exceptionally solid shell but needs paint. The straight six was knackered even though it had only covered 70k, so it was replaced by a secondhand v8 which also turned out to be knackered! So I am now in the process of rebuilding a motor for my project. I have collected bits for it over the years - new tailgate (courtesy of ebay), full rimmers sports exhaust, 16" fuchs alloys from a porsche 944, HIF6's with manual choke etc. The car has a very good vitesse interior from a previous car I owned (and scrapped). Hopefully, time and money allowing, I should at least be able to drive it out of my garage soon. Fingers crossed!

Hi Bren, and welcome

Your project sounds very interesting, would be especially interested to see how Fuchs alloys will look on an SD1

Hi all. I'm Captain Slow, and some of you will know me from various other forums. I don't actually drive yet (only 16 Sad ) but at some point in my life (hopefully the next ten years or so) I'd love to have an SD1.

My parents had a Turmeric 2300 series 1, bought from my grandfather who had owned it from new, which required an engine rebuild at 50000 miles, and then threw it's gearbox out on the A1. They then replaced it with a lovely Moonraker blue 3500 VP series 2.

Hi and welcome bigGv8, you sound like a man out of my own heart, I too had an SD1 around about that time, and it seems we are of similar age, and we've both returned to the marque of late.

Hope you enjoy your reaquaintance as much as I have (ups AND downs)

Welcome back!

Jay

Hello all, finally got round to this forum lark. This is my Vitesse which I have owned for nearly two years now. She has been fully rebuilt and is in pretty good nick. Engine is standard but other mods include - Spax all round: Quaife LSD: Rimmers exhaust: XJS front brakes.

Other SD1s I have owned are a 1981 3500 Vanden Plas, 1985 3500 Vanden Plas and a 1986 2600 Vanden Plas

Regards

Steve Very Happy
