Well, it's a series 1 car....

Stab in the dark... Optimistically, you are restoring a 'barn find' press fleet
car - LOExxxP or LOKxxxP registration.

I'd guessed wrong - looks like a S1 as it's not got the extra
hole in the lamp panel for the full-width badge bar. Silverleaf
though, a S2 colour.

Hope the restoration goes well - keep us updated, and guessing
why this one is special Smile

Hmm no offence but looks like a fairly basic 6 cylinder car so must have sentimental value?

No offence taken Tim Very Happy it sure is a stright six, 2300s well with a 2600s engine now.
My dad was into Rovers,from 1982 to the late 90s its all he had.First off was a P6 2200TC then had two S1 V8s a S2 2000 Confused a S2 2600s and finaly a S2 2300s.
His last one gave in on a Hoiliday, blocked oil spray bar Confused mmm the know problem.
It was brought home but sadly dad became more ill and it was clear he wouldn't drive the car again so no repair and she was scrapped.
Dad died in 2004, he often talked of getting another three five as he called the V8.

Thats a nice story. That sort of thing doesn't happen very often. You were lucky to find it. I would love to find some of my old cars or indeed my parents.

Fantastic news matey, I did do something the same with one of my late fathers cars although his was a Citroen, which he had new and was sold off just before he died. This car is now only 13 years old and I found it by chance when my cousin married the daughter of the then current owner!

Ist cost me a fortune since then but has my dads details in the servce book as the first owner so its all worth it! Very Happy

Broken the golden rule already Confused
I always liked the look of the vittesse and with this been a S2 I thought why not Cool it won't be a replica, will still have the 2300s badge at the rear and no vittesse decals, I've just bought a rear spoiler and may go for a deep chin spoiler, I'm going to drop the side mouldings and have the sills painted silver like the rest of the car.....oh and some alloys Very Happy
I just think it will turn more heads and look alot better for these little added items.
