WOW that red one is shocking....

SavageWA.. I can appreciate if you are into lairy body kits and the like that you prob wont have eyes for the S1 as its very much a trad classic car now..

Im not that much older than you (25) but my thing is definatly classic cars so i do have a lot of love for the S1 (although i wouldnt swap my tp for one yet)....
and i'm not a fan of the dash at all..

All i can say about the Bastos one tho is MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm yes please..... if only you could the find the correct wheels, I would love a racing SD1... just gotta get my MSA licence Razz

At the end of the day IMO if your not ruining something silly rare or irreplacable then as long as you love your car thats all that matters Very Happy

Isn't it funny how tastes change who remembers street machine in the 80's , wide arches , spoilers , big wheels and a big bonnet bulge . Nowadays its the clean lines of the car with a nice set of wheels (unless you're into saxos and the like ) .

I have yet to see a bodykit on an SD1 that looks the part they all look tacked on and NAFF. the standard shape is gorgeous... IMHO

Seconded! Very Happy

Seems like a sound lesson in how to mess up a fundamentally great body shape. No thanks, was offered one back in the late '80s, didn't like them tneh and still don't. In fact most of the add on body kits for the SD1 only succeed in spoiling it's naturallly sleek, flowing lines. The factory spoilers are all that's needed, and I remember some people even had reservations about seeing these fitted to the car when the Series 2 first came out.

I do love the vitesse, especially in red as it suits it so well, but i also like the clean uncluttered look of the S1, no rubbing strips, rear wiper and no plastic bumpers ala Austin Rover!

I'm not a huge fan of even the Vitesse spoilers.
I like the regular S2 spoiler though, and the side rubbing strips.

I like S1s in red, with the skeletal badge. The shape is at its purest and most Ferrari-like then.

But overall I prefer the S2 - I like the larger window, the wrap-around bumpers, the smooth C post cover and the front spoiler. As well as the nicer, less plasticky interior and better levels of kit.

I would like to see an S1 with the number plate below the front bumper as David Bache designed it, rather than slapped on the front bumper with that black rubber afterthought.

As for Cossie spoilers. No. Not even on Cossies, thank you very much.

I'm not a bodykit fan, because no-one who designs them ever appreciated the lines of the original car, so they never look right.

And I don't really like wide arches kits, but those racing SD1s look as though they have had the arches subtly pulled out and that looks fantastic.

Aye, Londonbabe has hit the nail on the head as far as the racers and bodykits go, although if i could lower my car 30-40mm( below standard Vitesse height it would be perfect lookswise for me,
The factory Twin plenum kit just gives it the edge over the standard Vitesse, i would like mine to sit at the same hieght as K5's (it looks identical in every other way exept its a bit scruffy Rolling Eyes ).
The lowered stance sets it of nicely, but any lower would mean it couldn't get in my workshop and I'm sure it would dissolve if I left it outside..

Plus it needs to get on the 4 post lift this winter to be undersealed and it wouldn't even get on there if it was lowered...
