Rita Sue and Bob Too!
The Professionals (George Cowleys Car)
The New Avengers (John Steeds Car)
I often wonder if The Avengers and the Professionals used the same Yellow Rover.

Do any of you remember the Channel 4 drama "The Deal"?
Basically the story of Blair and Browns rise to power.
My local Rover Club supplied the 2 Moonraker SD1's used in that program, one of which was mine!!
They were originally to be police escort cars,
but ,when the cars got to London, they liked my mates Vanden Plas so much, they used it as Maggie Thatchers car instead of the Jag they had originally planned to use.
John(my mate) has since sold his car(I've seen it on E-Bay in Cheshire area),but I've still got mine, and it's taken best SD1 at last 3 Rover Enthusiast South West shows,
Not bad for a 1985 Rover 2000!!!

In the film sliding Doors on tonight there was a c reg mettalic green one in the background as John Hannah and skinny blonde bird married to Chris Martin, talked.
Funny to think that in 98 when the film was made there were loads of them, probably still an everyday sight.

I remember seeing a film once with Michael Caine driving an SD1, can't remember the deatails of the car or the film. Also George Cole drove an SD1 in Blott on the Landscape, and watching Clockwise on TV the other afternoon reminded me when John Cleese is arrested at the end, he is driven off in a Series 2 SD1 Police Car, escorted by a Series 1 SD1 Police Car, and as he is being driven away he does his "Left! no right!, no left!" speech causing the driver to make some rather sudden and erratic steering inputs.....loadsa bodyroll......

The one from Rita Sue and Bob too was I'm pretty sure, listed on ebay last year, for some strange reason Bobs had dark brown front seats inthe front and not the rear, this was jsu8t like the car on ebay, it was also listed in West Yorksire where it was filmed Shocked
And yes the Avengers and professionals rover was the same car, they change it from MOC229P to MOC229R Very Happy
