I have been offered a rather nice SD1, but alas it has a cracked windscreen, is it easy to approach a windscreen specialist for replacement, or is it (as I suspect) difficult to get a screen replaced on these dear old cars, indeed are the windscreens still available?

Hi JD, Ive had several screens replaced since 1993 the last one 2.5 years ago by Bedford Windscreens 01234 212777 (ask for Dennis). He has never suggested any problem getting the right parts and trim.
You probably dont live near here to make it a worthwhile journey but your Yellow Pages will have plenty of small W/S firms/specialist, as opposed to the big boys who may not take too much care when trying to accomodate your special needs. Just ring round or visit a few to get a feel for what they can do. You wont be disappointed.
By the way - a lot of these smaller firms have been started uo by ex AutoGlass (or similar) staff who wanted to break out from the grind.
