Thought it was about time I listed a photo of my car.

She's a July '87 registered TP

1st owed by Rover Cars, second owner was Rover Finance, car was then sold off and bought by a guy in Oldham, he ran her for 2 years then stored the car in a "Carcoon" for 10 years, then I bought her (April 2003).

I recomissioned the car for use, found the engine wasn't on all 8 cylinders, while out driving her (wife driving) oil pressure dropped suddenly, limped her home.( she's never driven it since Confused)

Lifted rockers and found a bent pushrod and a hydraulic follower had popped out, and the heads were really sludged up.

Removed the heads to find a blown head gasket damaging the block and head at No3, commensed a full engine rebuild, 4 weeks before its first show at the SD1 club rally 2003.

Ran her ever since in the drier weather.

Bodily she is very good but needs a repaint one day, but I enjoy driving her too much Very Happy one day Wink

Photo was taken at a local car show a couple of weeks ago, when it has been wet, hence all the mud sprayed up the sills Sad

Yes the stripes should only really be fitted to 82/83 cars I am told when they were either optional or a deleted no cost option. As was pointed out at the SD1 club judging

Looks nice with them, will decide whether to put them back on closer to when I repaint her

Rolling Eyes
Can they not just judge a car on it's without being picky and anal? That's one thing i hate about the classic car scene. We are all just enjoying and trying to save old cars. Does it really matter if a car has some mods to it?

The judging was in fact quite informative and not negative, although I do not class myself as a "concourse" type of guy will never polish the inside of my exhaust pipe Shocked or want anyone to offer Surprised

It is stunning to see a car that shines everywhere, I don't have the time or inclination Wink

Looks cool. Were stripes still an option with the later deep chin spoiler?

The deep chin spoiler was fitted to the later Vitesse' @85/86 production single & twin plenums.

To my knowledge, please correct me if I'm wrong, as stated earlier the stripes were fitted as standard on 82/83 model years but could be deleted as a no cost option.

As I understood it the deep chin was only fitted to TP's - happy to be corrected though.
