My car came with a Grey Mountney wheel which i have since changed to a nice Black Astrali item that i found on E Bay. It is basically like a mountney but with a padded centre covering the spokes It is a good size, new and feels good. I have now seen a proper Vitesse wheel and am going to buy it. My question is should i put it on and sell the other one for originality purposes. Or keep what i have on and just put the Vitesse in the garage for the future?

Hillbilly here!! (forum will not work if i am logged in!) I find the vitesse wheel a v nice feel, as its so so heavy it has a very good balance and make for a smooth ride, but its huge! and twirling it round in the city and when hacking down b roads can be a pain although the extra size means you can see all the dials through it. Ive now had a sports wheel on for 6 months and will keep it on but would cahange it if any long distance drives were on the cards if only to loose the vibrations ive been getting with the smaller lighter wheel Smile Smile

I have the std steering wheel on my car, sort of like it in a querky way, Laughing except getting in with the wheel not at straight ahead, restricts access, and I'm not that fat Shocked

Would maybe like a "Motolita" wheel but won't spend the cash Wink

Well like i said it did not have an original wheel with it and i did not like the grey mountney one. This one is ok it does not look chavvy and i would not put a chavvy one on it.
Here it is anyway.

It depends what you are comfortable with looking at the cars at the nationals some people have opted for a smaller wheel while others (myself included) are quite happy with the original . Try the vitesse wheel and see what you think .

It's the first thing I took off. Replaced it with a proper 13 inch leather bound four spoke. Much nicer to hang onto than that Allegro - inspired quartic caper.

If your into purist resto originality then keep the flawed original. But for anything else it has to go ....

Finally succumed, over the summer I began to get miffed with the Quartic square wheel, as I said earlier I'd like a Moto-Lita but am too tight so I obtained a Mountney boss and now a 15" 3 spoke Black leather bound wheel, will post a before and after pic once the change is done for comments. Wink

Whay would we do without eBay Rolling Eyes

Fair enough but it does no harm to put a more comfy one on and keep the original for show etc. After all mine didn't even come with the original. I am not a lover of the mountney style ones. The design of them is to old for the car.

Each to their own, i thikn the sports wheels look a bit at odds with the rest of the car, I admit the quartic steering wheel is a bit odd!
