I don't lknow if anyone has come across this but pushing the rear wash wipe switch just activates a buzzing noise in the front washer bottle and no washer jet or wiper blade action. I am guessing the second washer pump to the rear may be faulty but don't know. Any ideas please? |

Hello Yorkie,
Series 1? Series 2? Efi? - may have slight diffs.
The pump for the rear washer is in the same front reservoir on an Efi so the buzzing noise is either the pump seized or the tube is blocked. If the tube, it could be anywhere from front to back. - It's lots of fun finding out where.

Hi Ramon,
Thanks for the tip.
mine is a series 2 vitesse. Would it be Ok to drain the whole washer bottle and replace the pump as this seems to be holding up proceedings - the rear wiper was active but not the programmed wipe on a delay until the 'buzzing' pump occured? |

You could try swapping the tubes and wiring for the pumps in the bottle to see if it's the pump or possibly in-car electrics that are at fault? |

Empty the reservoir, clean the pumps and tubes and nozzles, clean all connections plus the local earths and you will soon find the fault.
As for the programmed wipe on delay it could be the delay unit in the rear luggage compartment, item 298 on this cct diag.
