Do the K&N filters give any real advantage over the standard in box filters on a very unmodified and standard V8 engine? The price difference between the two is remarkable!!
Are there any cheaper performance alternatives? _________________ Lifelong SD1 fan - 1983 Rover 3500 Vanden Plas |

my EFI has a cheap cone filter on it now. Wont be as good as a K&N, but that doesnt matter to me. Mine made a HUGE difference due to the fact the filter i had in the standard box was the wrong one, creating a massive restriction. |

Is the K&N easy to clean? I bought one from the last spares day & its a bit mucky, what is the procedure for cleaning the filter? _________________ Auto Vitesse, gonna be a beast! |

i had a k&n on mine when it eas on the road and you could really here it sucking in cubic tons of air.better than the old klingon battle cruiser jobby. However if you listen to ramon he makes a good point previously.Ramon points out the cold air better than air scenario. As we know the air filter isnt ideally placed.I think mr alban has information on his website.http//www.vintagemodelairplanes.com |

A very good point indeed, and yes I had considered the fact that the K&Ns will simply suck in the very hot air generated from the vicinity of the exhaust manifolds, I was wondering if two seperate flexible trunks could be made up from behind the front spoiler up to the "front" of the filters....
I shall of course read Ramon's advice....
