Ah, I think E502LHX is an ex Police car.... Probably originally a white
2600VDP. Why? Well, a whole block of cars are registered as such:
Registration: E490LHX
Make: ROVER
Model: 2600 VANDEN PLAS AUTO (5 DOOR HATCHBACK)
Colour: WHITE
Loads of cars in a block around E500LHX (dozens of them!) are like this,
must have been a block registered by the Metropolitan Police (HX = London). |

ejefi, that's so spooky, your pic is virtually identical to mine, we must have stood next to each other taking it, I also have one of this car from the front too....
So remind me, was it around the time (15 years ago? EeK!!) and location I thought?
You haven't got a pic of my old Vitesse have you? a red one A103 RCR?

what normally happens when people modify an sd1 in this way is it starts life as (probably) a 2600 vanden plas, then they probably put a 3.5 (or bigger!) efi lump in it, and stick an efi badge on the back, so to look at you think it is a 3.5 vdp efi where, in fact, all is not as it seems......

I think it was 1992 so your guess at 15 years ago would be about right.
I don't have a picture of your car, only the line up of SD1's below:-
