I have a spare set of Mk1 Alloys (no tyres), they have already been shot blasted, one has a thin coat of paint on that you could easily paint over, otherwise they are tidy and the expensive bit of having all the old paint removed is already done.
One of the wheels does have a "dent" in the inside rim, I dont know if this will affect balancing.
Anyway I bought them off ebay and fetched them all the way from Ipswich but now there in the way, I was going to weigh them in that local scrap metal dealer or sell them on ebay
BUT!
If anyones interested in them there £30 for the set of 4 or £10 each.
I will need them to be collected asap as I need the space.
Please speak up or they will be disposed off. _________________ 1979 Rover SD1 V8-S

Ohh more tauntware! woudl love them for OUT681R, no idea when I can pick them up though
Things are moving on the body now, well have it apart and found all the rust.. not really that bad, apart form the anoyying rust under the top of the screen the order to rimmers has gone for the rear wings and rubbers
Is it possible to be put in touch with Fred? was wondering if he has the handbook and any other documentation for the car!

To be honest Fred is a very poorly old man (heart failure) so I think its best left, as for the alloys, as its such a early car and so original I would be inclined to keep those lovely chrome colverleaf trims, as for reg doc, I think he lost that a while ago and serviced it himself. I do have a old Rover 3500 handbook spare somewhere? _________________ 1979 Rover SD1 V8-S

Tim-Have you still got the wheels?
I can't pick up before the 15th December, but for that price it makes sense to buy them and try to refinish them in V8-S colour, rather than risk the original ones.

Bother.
I am at Uni in Bristol at the mo- otherwise I am 45 mins from Duxford, between there and the M1.
Being outside is fine.

Ahh, no plans to go to Bristol again, although I was there Sunday and actually passed the University.
I will keep hold of them for you until then, let me know when you want to come and collect please. _________________ 1979 Rover SD1 V8-S

HI Tim,
I will most likely collect on the weekend of the 22nd, or possibly the weekend before- I am assuming that you have a full-time job during the week.
What did you think of Bristol? |
