I wonder why that is? Does the SD1 front swage droop a little, so lining up the bumper with this is wrong?

I think it is a subtle design illusion to make it appear as if the front of the car is pointing downwards, ah la a built in "go faster stripe".

On series 1 cars
the swage continued around front of the car with the filler panel below the
headlights, the thin grille on series 2 cars.

But still the front swage line falls away towards the front.

So the captive nuts in the belly tray have corresponding holes in the spoiler to secure it to the belly tray then? Looks like I've bought a repro deep chin spoiler then, as my spoiler doesn't have them. Cant grumble for a tenner though right? How much would I be looking to pay for a decent used deep chin?

Easy way to tell if it's original is that it should be made of hard rubber,
unpainted black. The reproductions are fibreglass.

You learn something every day Smile Mine obviously isn't original then. BTW, you car looks bloody mint!

Yeah, I got my deep chin off of eBay with a very good front bumper for £20, so I thought it was a bargain, especially as it was in Monza Red, my colour, & it only needed a little bit of repainting & fibreglass repairs to make it presentable. And yes, it is a fibreglass deep cin. So the proper jobbies are rubber? The fibreglass one will do finethough right? Am pretty sure the underside isn't long enough to meet the bolt holes on the belly tray, so that means I need to make some kind of extention bracket? Also at some point part of the wheelarch fixing on one side has either been cut off or worn off, so a bracket will be made up for that....
