Heater motor worked in my Vitesse when I bought it, but now it's dead! any ideas?

Chris, assuming non aircon model.

First try

Fuse B1 25 amp main fuse box
Fuse B2 7.5 amp ditto

both the above feed pickup points M1 and M2 on this cct diag

Next try

Connectors corroded or unplugged
Slide switch on centre console needs cleaning/adjusting or is broken
Blower motor relay on side of heater unit loose or kaput
Overheat switch - location unknown but prolly on top of heater box (ouch)
Motor kaput (ouch ouch)

These on page 31 of wiring diags in rover sd1 wkshop manual

Yeah is non air con model, wouldn't say no to air con though!

Checked the realy, but not much I can do without another one to replace & see if thats at fault, not checked anything else yet, seem to recall that the overheat switch/resistor is on top of the heater unit, in an inaccessible place & would need the dash removing to get at it, unless you are a contortionist & can get your hands into the air intake?
