Nice car matey, looks great with teh Vitesse wheels which have been painted to match, just enough without being OTT. _________________ 1979 Rover SD1 V8-S

Thanks Tim, it was a decision I was at pains to make, should I have them plain silver?, but then thinking about the (classic Efi) Range Rovers, the Vogue had silver three spokes, but the Vogue SE had body coloured spokes, hence I thought as my car is the Vanden Plas, body coloured Efi wheels would be nice...
Glad you agree

Agree mate, I do prefer SD1s to be as Rover built them and make no apologies for it, but fitting genuine bits and a few subtle alterations I dont think does any harm at all.
Its when people get carried away trying to make it something its not that I get my anorak on lol It is after all a large family car not a racing car _________________ 1979 Rover SD1 V8-S

She's currently in the garage....
1) New Rimmer stainless steel exhaust being fitted onto the previously fitted stainless steel downpipes
2) Engine oil & Filter change and engine tune
3) New rear shoes, freeing off the sticky N/S handbrake mechanism
4) Then back home for a coolant change then a polish
Ready for this lovely mild weather we're enjoying at the moment

Just visited the garage....
Exhaust is on..... LOOKS AWESOME!!! (But a real pain to fit apparantly, needed a bit of rebending and reshaping.....)
Oil and filter changed
Fuel filter changed
Air filter changed (when they get the correct ones for the stromberg carbs)
Whilst fitting rear shoes, (lucky we did it seems ), found one wheel cylinder weeping slowly onto old shoes (which were nearing the rivets!), hence a pair of new rear cylinders to be fitted too
Rear handbrake mechanism now not sticking on
Should be ready "mid" tomorrow.....
Can't wait _________________ Lifelong SD1 fan - 1983 Rover 3500 Vanden Plas |

Drum brakes....I know I know I know, but they are more than adequate for my rock steady (aka boring!) driving style

Hi, sorry for the delay, but here's the new stainless steel sports exhaust as now supplied by Rimmer Brothers
I have not used tubular manifolds, but the originals are still in place, but I previously had stainless steel standard downpipes fitted in readiness for the sports system, then recently had the sports part system attached to the downpipes already thereon, hence I now have a full stainless steel system albeit with standard manifolds
Note that they have gone back to a similar to original looking curled tailpipe as opposed to a straight upswept pipe to resemble the original tailpipe more I would guess....
