Hi all,
I feel that my current engine is coming to the end of it's useful life

. Following the bearings giving up a couple of months ago, the head gaskets have now decided to give up in sympathy

. I am therefore after some advice on the best way to proceed.
The options as I see them are:
1. Refurbish the complete engine as it is.
2. I have a 3.5l short block, refurb that and bolt my stage 1 heads and carb on.
3. Find a larger block and bolt my stage 1 heads and carb on. (my current favourite)

.
4. Find a big block complete engine and bolt the entire lot into my engine bay.
5. Something different? Ford, Jaguar, BMW, Audi, MOPAR

??
I am wavering towards 3 at the moment, maybe 4.6l from a range rover. Should be able to pick up just a block quite cheap. Refurb my heads, etc and bolt them on. Is this possible? Does the 4.6L have different better heads? Will my Edlebrock 500cfm carb fit/ cope? What type of block am I after? What about the cam, I think I have a fast road cam fitted?
I plan to fix the heads this weekend

to get the car through the summer?? and carry out all the big work over the winter. This will allow me time to collect the parts and keep the car on the road as long as possible

.
I do not want to spend big money as the whole idea of the car has been to do it on a budget!
Any help and advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan Smith.
