The power steering on my vitesse is acting up... First noticed it on full lock, there'd be a graunching noise, as if the tyres were rubbing the bodywork (they don't). If you hold the wheel on full lock the wheel wobbles, so do the wheels (they twitch in/out), the rubber hose coming out the back of the pump also vibrates like mad.

It seemed to only do it when hot, not when first started up. Now it does it from cold and I think it's doing it near full lock, not just on full lock.

The pump has plenty of fluid and isn't loose.

Has anyone had this problem before? At present I'm letting it "develop" with the intention of replacing whatever finally expires, on the basis that there's nothing I can do to fix the component. Figures crossed it's not the rack!

After finding fluid leaking from the pump (behind the pulley it seems), the pump was replaced (£30 new old from ebay) and the problem cured
